I’ve been trying a number of things with the buttonhole stitch, but nothing has been too inspiring so far. I’ve got one or two ideas in the making that haven’t worked out yet. Perhaps tomorrow things will look different. I’ve just spent a bit of time over on the flicker group for Take A Stitch Tuesday and that definitely was inspiring!
Above, the first picture is just goofing around with the concept of a leaf on felt. On the second picture I was having fun stringing on the beads! The third picture shows the beginning of some pulled work I started to try, but the thread was wrong for that. And under that is two rows of buttonholes back to back and whipped together. I found this in Sharon b’s Stitch Dictionary, it’s called the barb stitch. The last picture is the buttonhole barred stitch, also from Sharon’s dictionary.
